Unmasking sportwashing documentary

Last week I was interviewed by three media communications students from Queensland University of Technology (QUT) in Brisbane.

They had asked to interview me for a documentary assignment on the subject of sportswashing. After completing their research and recorded a series of interviews the three of the – Adam, Henry and Harrison – edited the recordings and produced their 17-minute documentary titled ‘Shadows of the Game: Unmasking Sportswashing’.

Today they emailed me to let me know that their documentary had received a high distinction mark and been nominated for a Student Journalism Award in the Best Visual Journalism category at the 2024 Journalism Education and Research Association of Australia Awards.

I was really pleased that they got such a great mark for their assignment, and my fingers are crossed for the outcome of the award nomination.

Here is the link to their documentary which they shared with me on YouTube: https://youtu.be/vGaApfyZhOc?si=kCeqUkZ88Ctb9k1l
