I was delighted to receive confirmation this week of my appointment as an Honorary Professor at the University of Otago.
After 31 years’ association with the university, it is an honour to retain strong links with Otago. Even though I have taken up my new role with Griffith University, I am still involved in research and other projects at Otago, and this appointment certainly makes it easier for me to continue some of my work with colleagues in Dunedin. Given family and other connections, I will also be working from Dunedin from time to time.
The university, Dunedin, Otago and of course New Zealand are all hugely important parts of my life. So, far from being “farewell”, this is now “see you shortly”!
